Joseph Cerny M.D.
Doctor Cerny is a native Californian who resides in Auburn
with his wife Wendy, a Pediatrician, and two children.
He completed his undergraduate work at U.C. San Diego with
a bachelors degree in 1988. He attended Eastern Virginia
Medical School where he graduated with honors in Internal
Medicine in 1992 and earned his medical degree. Doctor Cerny
went on to complete a residency in Family Medicine at UC
Irvine in 1995. During his residency in 1994 he was elected Chief
Resident by his peers and assumed a leadership role. He
practiced in Southern California initially. In 1998 he moved to
Placer county where he worked at Auburn Medical clinic for 7
and 1/2 years before going into private practice. During his last 3
years at Auburn Medical clinic he assumed the role of lead
Doctor Cerny has been involved in the community as
volunteer in medical events such as flu clinics, health fairs and
high school physical programs. He also has been active as
volunteer coach of soccer, baseball and softball teams.
In a recent regional patient satisfaction survey involving
several hundred doctors in Placer and Sacramento counties he
was rated within the the top ten physicians.
